Congratulations to Farlow Friends Giovanna Bishop and Jason Karakehian, recipients of Student Research Awards from the Society of Herbarium Curators! Giovanna was a student intern at the Farlow Herbarium and Jason was a graduate student in the Pfister Lab who utilized the collections at the Farlow for his research. Giovanna M. Bishop, working with Jessica Allen at Eastern Washington University with the proposal, "Impacts of rock climbing on lichen and bryophyte cliff communities in the arid west"

Jason M. Karakehian, working with Andrew Miller at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, was selected unanimously for the proposal entitled "Toward a revision of Propolis (Fungi) and allied genera: morphological studies of type and authentic specimens in the Farlow Herbarium, Harvard University"
